Privacy policy
Last updated: 31 October 2026
This policy explains what information Yuniti collects when you chat with it on WhatsApp, how it is used, and your choices. Yuniti is operated by YUNITI DIGITAL (URSB registration no. 80044760912430), Kalina, Namasuba Ward, Masajja Division, Wakiso, Uganda.
What we keep
- Your WhatsApp phone number, so we can reply to you
- The token SMS text or screenshots you send, with personal names and token digits removed
- A one-way code (hash) of each token to avoid counting it twice. We never keep the full token number
- Meter numbers and the labels you give them (e.g. "Home")
- Purchase amounts, units, dates and mobile-money fees
- The messages Yuniti sends you
How long we keep it
- Raw incoming WhatsApp messages and screenshots: deleted within 7 days after they are processed. Screenshot images are not stored after the text is read
- Everything else: until you ask us to delete it
How we use it
Only to explain your receipts, estimate your usage and send the reminders you have not turned off. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
Who processes it
Messages travel through WhatsApp (Meta). The service runs on a cloud hosting provider. They process data only to provide the service.
Your choices
- Send STOP to turn off reminders and alerts; START turns them back on
- Send delete my data to delete your information. Purchases on a meter that other people also use may be kept without any link to you
- Email masamata98@gmail.com with any question
Independence
Yuniti is independent and is not UEDCL, ERA, MTN or Airtel. Explanations are estimates based on published tariffs and your receipts; your meter is the final word.
